A free Anchoring Area is provided on the south side of the Harbour.

The THA maintains this area to keep the seabed free from static gear and illegal moorings  

Boats under 21 metres (70ft) may anchor for free in the clear anchoring area, or between the outer local moorings.

Small boats under 10 metres (33ft) may also anchor inshore to the north of the fairway
