TOBERMORY HARBOUR ASSOCIATION (THA)

STAFF

In September 2005 the day to day running of the company and management of the THA assets and facilities was devolved to the staff. The directors are still responsible for all policy and will continue to work closely with the staff on all new projects and on the maintenance of the THA assets


PROJECTS OFFICER

THA Options

Morag Brown is the THA Projects Officer. Morag is responsible for the day to day management of the Company and the implementation of all new projects.

Morag is a Geography graduate who joined the THA in 2002 following 6 successful years in the construction industry working on both build and finance.

Morag's first project working in conjunction with the THA Directors was the environmental and landscaping improvements to the Ledaig Boat Park . Next, Morag was the Team Leader, on the installation of the THA Pontoon followed in 2005 by the installation of the new Fuel Berth, storage and delivery system. Morag is currently heading the THA most ambitious project to design and build a multi purpose building at Ledaig with Showers toilets, offices, visitor centre and meeting room and storage.

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

FEES

Alison Rimell joined the staff in March 2008 on a part time basis.  The Administrative Officer is responsible for the day to day running of the office, accounts, moorings holder list, cruise liner bookings and the new harbour building.  In addition she liaises with the moorings officer, project officer and THA board of directors.

Alison has lived on Mull since 1989 and moved to Tobermory in August 2007.  She has a Post Graduate Certificate in Music Education.  In addition to part time teaching, Alison has run her own B&B and self catering business for 15 years, worked as a school secretary for 4 years and most recently worked as office administrator for Mull & Iona Community Trust. 

Fees & Charges

MOORING OFFICER

Jim Traynor is the THA Mooring Officer. The Mooring Officer promotes a positive image of Tobermory and the THA. Jim is responsible for the management of the THA Assets, for the maintenance of the assets and the collection of fees and dues from visitors using the moorings, pontoon berths, boat park, and slip.

Jim is also a director of the Tobermory Fish Company with many years of experience afloat in and around Tobermory Bay . Jim is also the local leader of the MCA Coastguard Team.

The THA mooring Officer(s) are usually on duty from 08.00 to 10.00 and from 17.00 to 19.00 but these hours will vary depending upon the number of boats requiring moorings, berths or advice.

 

RELIEF MOORING OFFICER

 

Barbara Weir joined the staff in 2006. Barbara is responsible for promoting a positive image of both Tobermory and the THA. Barbara is on duty two days a week throughout June, July and August. Barbara collects the fees and dues from visitors using the moorings, pontoon berths, boat park, and slip.

Barbara also works for the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust and has many years of experience with small boats in and around Tobermory Bay .
